Today's release of 12.12, which fixes a nasty GIF vulnerability...

...reminds me that having repositories for Opera would be great. Do they
exist? A quick web search didn't turn up any, but it would be great if
we could just point our package managers to the appropriate repository
and have updates to Opera be handled the same way we handle updates to
everything else on our boxes.

I'm running Mageia 2 x86_64, but what I'm really hoping for is a list
that will be useful to everyone, not just me.

It's more usual for people to use the repos for their particular distros,
rather than any 'third party' repos - even for 'non-free' packages. If
no-one is building Opera packages for the Mageia repos, perhaps you could
ask for a volunteer - or even be one?

The group alt.os.linux.mageai would be a good place to discuss such things.

Or, could you add the Opera download URL to the repo manager in your Mageia
installation(s)? I seem to remember such things could be done with "urpmi"
in Mandriva, from which Mageia is descended.
