I've had a really weird problem. Google results pages will
sometimes start flashing a white square on part of the page
and clicking on likes doesn't work/stop it.

Sounds like a banner issue. But there are no banners on google. hmm.
Can you make a screenshot if it happens again?

The screen looks normal except for a square shaped blinking area that
is blinking white.

I just checked my proxy logs and it looks like Opera is loading
the graphics over and over:
